Policies & Logistics

⏱Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours total — including a 20-minute boat transfer each way and 20–30 minutes in the water with the seals. Arrive 30 minutes before departure for check-in and safety briefing.
📍Meeting Point: The Great White House, Gansbaai (Marine Dynamics HQ). Free parking on site. Do not go to the harbour — depart directly from here.
🦭Dive Sites: Hospital Rock and Batchelor Rock at Geyser Rock — part of the Dyer Island Marine Reserve, home to over 60,000 Cape Fur Seals. Sites are selected daily based on sea and animal behaviour conditions.
🗓Season: Year-round, 7 days a week. Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Launch times confirmed the day before — make your whole day available.
🤿Equipment Provided: Full wetsuit, booties, gloves, mask, and flippers. Floatation devices provided for rest breaks. Life jackets and waterproof jackets also supplied.
🎒What to Bring: Towel, swimsuit, sunhat, sunblock, sunglasses, water bottle, and camera or GoPro. Anti-nausea medication recommended if prone to seasickness — take the night before and two hours before departure.
👤Requirements: Minimum age 12. All participants must be competent swimmers. Average fitness level. Maximum weight 150 kg. No prior diving certification required.
🍽On Site: Optional hot showers available (R60). The Great White House Restaurant offers a full menu — ideal for a meal before or after your swim.
🐾Conservation First: No touching or feeding of wildlife is permitted at any time. All interactions follow Marine Dynamics' strict wildlife protocols under guidance of trained marine guides.
